Quest Academy

Quest Academy Quest Academy has grown rapidly since its inception in 1982 with 11 children. Quest now draws over 300 gifted and talented students from over 70 communities in the Chicago area.

The school's mission is as follows: Quest Academy provides gifted children with a challenging curriculum and a nurturing environment. Our program emphasizes sound character along with scholarship and creativity in both the academics and the arts. The Quest community values the individuality of each child and encourages each to strive for personal excellence.

Designed specifically for gifted and talented children, Quest’s curriculum reflects the most recent and highly regarded research on the needs of able learners. Based on a traditional liberal arts education, equal emphasis is placed on the sciences, the humanities, and the arts. The school’s small class sizes and differentiated curriculum allow each child to work at a level appropriate to his or her abilities.

Class work revolves around hands-on, interdisciplinary projects that allow students to delve into subjects in depth. Critical thinking and reasoning abilities are taught and applied across content areas. The school’s character-education program challenges even the youngest students to strive for exemplary character.

In 1998, Quest added a $3 million performing arts facility and gymnasium to the original two-story brick and glass structure. In addition to bright, spacious classrooms, the school includes two large science labs, a computer lab, a drama area, an art studio, two music rooms, a large library, and a foreign language room.
